Sandra J. DuPree, Ed.D., Executive Director 

Sandra J. DuPree, Ed.D. is the Executive Director of Hyde Leadership Charter School – Brooklyn.  As educational leader and chief administrator of Hyde – Brooklyn, she provides leadership for all of the School’s constituencies in accordance with the School’s philosophy, goals, and principles.

Prior to opening Hyde Leadership - Brooklyn in 2010, she served as Director of Academic Development for the Hyde Foundation where she assisted in developing and supporting school leaders.  As Director of Program Quality at The After School Corporation (TASC), and Director of Admissions Training and Quality Assurance at New Leaders for New Schools (NLNS), she developed monitoring tools and programming components needed to ensure quality outcomes for schools and students.

Sandra served as founding Elementary Director of Hyde Leadership Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., from 2000–2005, where she received The Mayor’s Recognition of High Performance Award.  Prior to her tenure as an administrator, Dr. DuPree taught for seven years within the District of Columbia Public Schools, Prince George’s County Public Schools and various charter schools. As a former Adjunct Professor at LaGuardia Community College and Hunter College and independent consultant, Sandra brings more than a decade of experience. Sandra received her Bachelor’s Degree from Howard University, Master’s from Trinity University and a Doctorate from Howard University.

Christine DePina Forbes, Head of School

Christine DePina Forbes is the Head of School at Hyde Leadership Charter School - Brooklyn.  She began her tenure at Hyde Brooklyn during the 2012-2013 school year and served as a Founding Board member.  Christine DePina Forbes has been in the education sector for 20 years.  Prior to her current role, she taught in the elementary grades in Massachusetts, New York and Maryland. She has held positions as Assistant Principal and Principal in two charter schools located in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn and Harlem, New York.  Christine DePina Forbes is a graduate of Simmons College and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Spanish; Master's Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in Educational Leadership.
